Answer

Dear sir, Drying of passion fruit vines can be due to many reasons like nutrient deficiency, pest or disease attack. It can also happen due to lack of irrigation and low humid condition. Since the climate is so hot at this time increased atmospheric temperature due to scrotching sun can also result in drying. So its better to contact your nearest krishibhavan to identify (Krishibhavan, Karakulam 0471-2370094 ) the exact cause to take the appropriate remedial measure.

Answer

Dear Swathy, The black spots on the surface of Guava fruits seems to be like Anthracnose disease caused by fungus which can be controlled by spraying Bordeaux Mixture or Dithane Z 78 at 0.2% concentration at weekly intervals. The under surface of the leaves shows mealy bug infestation for which insecticide spray is necessary.Destroy the affected fruits and leaves and maintain a proper hygienic condition. Proper fertilizer application, irrigation and pruning has to be followed. Its better to contact your nearest Krishibhavan with fresh disease/pest samples so that they can recommended an integrated management approach

Question

How to ripening avocado

Answer

Dear Sir, Avocados do not ripen on the tree; they ripen after they have been harvested. To speed up the avocado ripening process 1)Place the unripe avocado into a brown paper bag. The bag is used to trap the ethylene gas, which ripens the avocado 2)Add a banana, apple, or tomato to the brown paper bag for two or three days Store the bag, closed, at room temperature.
